Dr. Noble Proctor, professor emeritus in biology at Southern Connecticut State University, is a nationally and internationally renowned ornithologist and a leader of natural history and ecology expeditions. He has also studied marine life in all oceans of the world.
This book is amazing. Like any textbook, it required an instructor to present the material in a form that is best for the students.
Now a comment on one of the reviews of this book. Never one to deny credit where it was due, Wilkes (who later spearheaded advances in software, became the doyen of Britain's electronic community and ended his long and distinguished career as professor emeritus of computer science at Cambridge) unceasingly acknowledged his major debt to Eckert and Mauchly. The characters are as believable as those of Ian Fleming, yet far less intriguing or sexy.
In sum, this book is lousy. The book does a lot for validation of feelings and understanding your partner's feelings. Our school uses James Stewart and combination of Connally and Barnetts 'Precalculus and Trigonometry. The resolution for sweet Rosa worked very well for me. This book gives an excellent introduction into group theory and provides a working knowledge for those who want to study field
