Editorial : Lali was a delightful character! I found this book to be a very good debut novel. Three Stars! -- Detra Fitch, Huntress Reviews, February 2, 2002

Novel based on true some true memoirs - revolving around Lali, an entrancing young Burmese lady. Lee helps her escape from servitude at a Thai massage parlor, they travel to Europe and on to California where he loses track of her. The story follows Lali's quirky experiences and we see the ever evolving strangeness of her new world through her eyes. After several outrageous encounters, Lali finds herself lost in a California wilderness area. She's taken in by a small group of Native American wannabes and joins their back-to-the-land camp. The last part has two of her former American boyfriends conspiring to rob a Burmese temple of jewels, but you wouldn't want the ending given away, would you?!

Even stones impact humanity and visa versa. I apologize for the confusion to Kila and any other readers.. Spoilers aside, the conclusion reflects the nihilism inherent in post-Alan Moore comics of the era mixed with the optimism Morrison's writings usually reflect, and which sets Morrison apart from his British counterpart.

Moving completely away from flat pastel colors and totalitarian, dystopian science fiction, Morrison and Hughes segue into a sensationalized, pop sensibility with "Really & Truly." Readers familiar with Morrison from The Invisibles or The Filth and who appreciated both books will find "Really & Truly" a fascinating window into Morrison's development as a writer, especially in his experiments with non-traditional and often bizarre characters and story formulas. She is the expert's expert. Its the best book I've seen- if you can play at this level. I. This one was not, and I found myself skimming sections and reading as fast as I can just to get it over wit
