There's no antagonist, no central conflict, almost no dramatic action. Cyclogenesis, 10. A good book for making the transition from violin to fiddle. However, some knowledge in math would certainly helpa first course in probability theory and some background in dynamical systems is a good idea (at the level of undergraduate courses in pure and applied sciences).
All explanations are not rigorous but the objective is to provide a good intuition about the mechanisms driving complexity. I read "Spain's Cause Was Mine" a couple of years ago, but I recently revisited it and was once again struck by the humanity, nobility and idealism of Hank Rubin. Please purchase this book if you're serious about boarding.. That idea was not the transistor or the integrated circuit or even the programming language but the groundbreaking notion that you could have a machine where both data AND the instructions for manipulating that data could be stored in the same place by being encoded in a common bin
